Dragon NaturallySpeaking can be used with any application in your windows PC. From Excel to Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and any other application, you can use this software to create documents, reports, presentations, editing, controlling applications and much more.
If you are willing to use Dragon NaturallySpeaking with Microsoft Excel to create any report, you would have
access to its two voice modes – Dictation Mode & Edit Mode which are also
called as Quick Edition and Full Edition respectively.
Unlike, the Recognition modes, you can’t select the Quick or
Full Edition mode manually. However, you can invoke them according to the
actions you are going to take inside the spreadsheet.
Such modes can make your life much easier when you would use
them to dictate or edit the cells into the Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet. On the
other hand, if you don’t have any idea about how to use them, you can be highly
frustrated from the outcomes that the Dragon NaturallySpeaking delivers after you try to use those voice modes.
So, it’s better to have proper knowledge of the excel voice
modes before you start working with it.
Here, in this blog, we have come up with a quick detail of
the same to let you understand a bit about it.
#1. Quick Edition Mode
While you start dictating to a cell, you will see a yellow
background that reflects everything that you say in the excel spreadsheet cell.
So, for an instance, if you say, “Select C5,” and then started dictating, the Dragon
NaturallySpeaking Software will write everything you speak into that cell only.
If you wish to format what you have just said, you can use
various commands as you do in any text-editing application to format the
dictated text.
By using this voice mode in excel, you can fully edit a cell
through the command “Edit Cell” or “Press F2”.
Once you have used this command, the background of that
specific cell will turn blue which tells that now you can edit in the cell the
way you want.
If you witness anything wrong, just check out the cell
background first. If it is yellow, you’re dictating into it, if it is blue, you
are commanding it.
So, make sure to adjust your words accordingly.
